INTOSAI to become an authoritative voice on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals

The 12th INTOSAI Congress in Abu Dhabi affirmed its commitment to make a “meaningful contribution” to the Agenda 2030 and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). A first research undertaken by the GIZ "Good Financial Governance in Africa" programme was presented by programme manager Dr Barbara Dutzler. On behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Development and Cooperation (BMZ) and the European Union (EU), GIZ will continue to support the African Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (AFROSAI) in developing solutions for audition the SDGs. >>

African legislators join forces to fight illicit financial flows and increase accountability of governments

The Mbeki-Report on Illicit Financial Flows (IFFs) launched by the High Level Panel on IFFs reaffirmed that African nations are losing more than 50 billion USD per year due to illegal and illicit financial flows. In order to curb IFFs on the African continent and to strengthen parliamentary committees dealing with the state budget and public accounts, the African Organisation of Public Accounts Committees (AFROPAC) organised its 2nd General Meeting that took place from 29 August to 2 September in Nairobi, Kenya.
